ELI5 Setting up Visual Studio Code

As the title alludes to, I'm having issues setting up my VS code on my PC. I was able to download it fine and open it like normal, but I feel like I keep running into issues related to the setup (file location, node.js, things like that). I've searched the internet for videos that might be able to help but there seems to be a gap in explanation from the how to "download" VScode, and the "nitty gritty" of setting it up for different languages.

Hopefully this is specific enough to get help, any and all help is appreciated even if it's just directing me to a link! Thanks in advanced!

    Hello @Landon Lamie ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Here’s the documentation about Visual Studio Code SETUP, you can refer to this documentation and find the explanation about the location(C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Local\Programs\Microsoft VS Code), downloading and settings of different languages(on the left, select the specific language topic to check details).

Besides, as VS Code is currently not supported in the Microsoft Q&A forums, you can post your questions here: GitHub - vscode for further assistance.

Thanks for your understanding, have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

    Tianyu
