Error while initial configuration of ASR Replication appliance

While doing the initial configuration of the ASR Replication appliance, for disaster recovery of on-prem VMware VMs. I get the below error.

The error happen to come towards the end of the process.


Error:-

Could not configure the appliance.

Details

Azure Key Vault create or update operation failed for 'https://xxxxx.vault.azure.net/'. The error encountered is 'An error occurred while sending the request.'

Recommendation

Please check if you have 'Contributor' access to the the given subscription. You should also check if you have access to the Key Vault specified in the error message and retry the operation. If the issue persists, please contact Microsoft support.


My account has the "Contributor" access to the subscription, also has "Application Developer" role. Our resources are in a private endpoint.

Appreciate if somebody can assist me to resolve the issue.

    have seen this before

    If possible change to Owner instead of Contributor

    Or else

    Add the permissions to Azure Key Vault as per :

    Hi @Konstantinos Passadis Thank you, very much for your support, resource and advice.

    I was finally able to register the appliance today in ASR.

    Since ours is a shared subscription, so DNS configuration on the private endpoints had to be changed to shared "Private DNS zone", once this was done. I was able to register the appliance.
