Screenshot_20231109-112236~3.png There is a red notification that is appearing. It initially suggests to update my password. Then, it states that my password is incorrect! Yet, all has been fine till 2 days ago. What does this mean? Is it legitimate? How do I make it go away? Thank you.

    Hi @M M ,

Does this error happen on the Outlook client or other applications?

According to my search results, there are several possible reasons why you are receiving notifications to update your password, and then it also states that the password is incorrect. Here are some of them:

    • Your account settings are out-of-date in Mail or Calendar for Windows 10. This is the most common cause of an out-of-date account. You can fix this by selecting Fix account in the notification bar at the top of the Mail or Calendar app, and entering the new password
    • Your password has expired or been changed by your administrator. This can happen if you are using a work or school account that has a password policy. You can fix this by changing your password on the website of your email provider, or by contacting your administrator.
    • Your email server has a security certificate error. This can happen if you don’t use SSL to secure your email account. You can fix this by checking the boxes for Require SSL for incoming email and Require SSL for outgoing email in the Advanced mailbox settings of your account.

More information, see: Your account settings are out-of-date in Mail or Calendar for Windows 10
