How do I sync my new Downloads and Desktop folders with the ones already on OneDrive?

Hi guys,

I had OneDrive set up on my old PC where I had synced the Downloads and Desktop folders. I now have a new laptop and wanted to set up OneDrive on this one. The problem is that I want to combine the Desktop and Downloads folder on the new laptop with the one already on OneDrive, so whatever I download will be automatically synced to OneDrive (I don't want to change the download path and want to see my previously downloaded files in my native Downloads folder on the new laptop).

I cannot figure out how to do that, I tried with the Desktop folder and royally messed it up.
