Removing a deleted channel that still appears in Teams app

A standard channel was deleted from a Team a few months ago but it still shows up in the Teams desktop client. None of the settings work and it doesn't open. The channel also doesn't show in the web app of Teams or in the Teams Admin Centre. Other users also have this channel still in their Teams client.

Can anyone suggest how to permanently remove this channel? Thank you!

    Hi @Dirk de Jong

First, make sure the team owner or administrator has deleted the channel and not restored it.

When trying to clear the cache, make sure you end the Teams background process. If clearing the cache doesn't help, check to see if Teams has been updated to the latest version.

If the above doesn't work, try uninstalling Teams and reinstalling it.

    Hi Dirk,

It might be cached on the client, can you clear the cache as per the steps below:

    1. Quit Microsoft Teams (ctrl-Q)
    2. Go to the command line and run the following:

    `rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.teams rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Application\ Cache/Cache rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/blob_storage rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Cache rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/databases rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/GPUCache rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/IndexedDB rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/Local\ Storage rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/tmp

    1. Launch Teams`

    Hope this helps.
