How has microsoft not solved payment issue? How does someone in Nigeria pay for Azure subscription? This whole experience has been frustrating.

How has Microsoft not solved payment issue? This whole experience has been frustrating! Cards in Nigeria don't work and at the same time Virtual cards are not allowed. How do I pay for my subscription? I am trying to build some projects on Azure. I am this close to abandoning this altogether. Virtual cards work on GCP / AWS. Azure has been so difficult to set up. It is also surprising considering the amount of companies that use Microsoft products here. It makes sense why we are seriously considering GCP on the cloud. So frustrating! Also, support has been terrible.

I understand your concern about not being able to pay using cards (Local/virutal). Because the billing the currency for Nigeria is United States – Dollar ($) USD. That being a reason, you are experiencing the issue mentioned in the description. The only option is Wired transfer and that will be given to Organizations only. If you are a company and have a good payment history, we suggest using Wired transfer. If not, Credit Card is the only option.

Last year I paid for my Annual Microsoft 365 subscription with my Mastercard Naira denominated card. But this year I am trying to pay the amount (Naira) stated on Microsoft site and I get error message like the info does not match the info on the card. I would have saved a lot of precious time not trying to figure out what info does not match. Why not say the transaction is denominated in USD and not Naira. Its looking like one has to buy Dollars and pay with a Dollar card.

2024-02-23T07:36:45.2466667+00:00 @Toun Adebiyi Azure is priced in US dollars (USD) worldwide under the Microsoft Customer Agreement and Microsoft Partner Agreement. Prices are in your local currency for Enterprise Agreements. Azure users are always charged in their local currency. A currency conversion occurs at the time of billing, if the pricing currency isn't the same as the billing currency.
