Hi everybody, i have a problem with the HYPERLINK function in my Microsoft 365.

The function works well linking other types of files (for example pdf's and so on), otherwise links to other Excel files or other positions into the same Excel file do not work. When i click on the link created by the function, appears the message "impossible to open the selected file".

I have this problem also in an Excel 2019 copy i have in another computer.

Any suggestion about it?

Thank you very much!

Chris

I created a formula in Sheet 1, that links to the cell B3 in Sheet 2:

    =COLLEG.IPERTESTUALE('Sheet 2'!B3;"My english Friend")

    But the link doesn't work.

My Excel version is in italian, in english the name of the function is HYPERLINK, and works in the same way.

Unfortunately i can not attach an Excel file

    Hi,

I'm using English language Office, I suggest you try this formula:

    =HYPERLINK(CELL("address",Sheet2!B3),"My english Friend")

You can translate the formula to Italian manually, hope the information is helpful.

Hi Emi, first of all, thank you for your advice. The formula you suggested is theoretically working, but the link is not established (appears the usual message "not possible to open the specified file"). I don't think it's a problem of the formula, but a block of the link

Hi Emi, today i tried to use the function once more, remembering to close the address of the linked file into "", and it worked... In all situations: to external excel files, to a cell in the same file... I don't know why, but now it works correctly. Maybe i forgot to close the address into "".

I'll make some other proves to confirm all.

Thank you very much for your assistence!
