Hello,

How can I extract a report that is easy to understand which says something like

"Tenant X has 5 VMs"

This is how much

VM1 costs per day / per month

VM2 same thing

VM3

VM4

VM5

And then have something similar for the backups

Backup for VM1 costs XXX

Backup for VM2 costs XXX

Etc.

I apologize if this is a level 1 question but I find it is next to impossible to understand very clearly how much a VM costs and how much the backup costs.

Thank you!

@Audi911 Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Q&A platform.

I see that you want to know the VM cost and the backups cost.

    An approach here would be,

In a tenant find all Azure subscriptions

For each subscription find the cost details

The user running this would need permissions to get all subscriptions and for each subscription have permission to get cost details.

In backup reports workbook in the backup center you can see how much backup data is stored per VM. IMHO this is the most you get out-of-box in Azure.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes!

    Hi Anthony,

The best place to do this is to use the Azure Price Calculator

Estimate costs with the Azure pricing calculator

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/costs/pricing-calculator

    Azure Pricing Calculator

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/calculator/

You will be able to choose the services you want, and even input the hours you want it to run. To calculate monthly, there are 730 hours in a month. Also you can input your estimated storage amounts and it will tell you the pricing on the tier or machine type you have entered.
