Default but not recommended

Question

Why is the default not recommended?
Just testing, when I try to create a new retention tag, why does it say not recommended?

Because using the policies and tags in Purview is the future. Using the old Exchange tags is not recommended unless you need to move items from the primary mailbox to the online archive as the new labels and policies in Purview cant do that function.

I would use the 365 features if possible as they can apply to multiple workloads, not just Exchange:
