I have a requirement to automate Microsoft Active Directory. Is there any REST API provided by Microsoft to do that ? like the one with Azure AD API ?

Unfortunately there is no official API for active directory provided by Microsoft like Azure AD API.

You can use automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to manage and automate Active Directory tasks. These tools often have modules or plugins to interact with AD.
