I am unable to see images embedded in emails in MS outlook 365. i get the following error message where images should be embedded

The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location error

I have already tried fixes that were suggested in responses to others with a similar issue, including:

  • updating the registry for blocked https images (changing value to 0) and adding in AllowImageProxyAuth
  • Checking and Updating the location of the outlook secure temporary folder
  • emptied temp internet files and caches
  • Checked outlook configuration using MSRA app and applied fixes

This is only on my windows 11 Pro device - i can view images on my phone, ipad and mac. I have uninstalled vpns and virus scanners based on advice seen on other similar MS questions

Please advise what other action i can take

Based on the symptoms you described, it seems that the issue is related to the BlockHTTPimages registry value being set to 1. However, since you have already tried updating the registry and checking the location of the Outlook secure temporary folder, there may be another cause for the issue.

One thing you can try is to check if the images are being blocked by your antivirus software. Some antivirus software may block images in emails for security reasons. You can try disabling your antivirus temporarily and see if the images display properly in Outlook.

Another thing you can try is to repair your Office installation. Sometimes, issues with Outlook can be resolved by repairing the installation. To repair your Office installation, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Control Panel and go to Programs and Features.
    2. Find Microsoft Office in the list of installed programs and select it.
    3. Click on the Change button at the top of the list.
    4. Select the Repair option and click Continue.
    5. Follow the prompts to complete the repair process.

If neither of these solutions work, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hi @Sophie Thomas ,

I found a Microsoft Community thread that discusses a similar issue. Some users reported that unchecking the “Do not save encrypted pages to disk” option in Internet Properties > Advanced resolved the issue. You can try this solution and see if it works for you.

If the issue persists, check if it works in a new Windows profile, it’s possible that the issue is with your current profile settings.

    Hope above can help you!
