Edge can auto open some page in IE core, but sometimes the judgement is wrong.

So there are 2 questions:

  1. how Edge decide to open a page in IE mode or not? By some keywords in the HTML?
  2. If Edge wrongly opens a page with IE mode, how can I reopen that page with chrome mode?

    Hi @Jin Hui ZHANG ,

    1. Edge decides to open a page in IE mode according to the group policy you or your organization set. For a site to use IE mode, you need to:
      • List the site in the Enterprise Mode Site List XML defined in one of these policies:
      • Microsoft Edge 78 or later, "Configure the Enterprise Mode Site List"
      • Internet Explorer, "Use the Enterprise Mode IE website list"
      • All Intranet sites when the Send all intranet sites to Internet Explorer group policy is enabled (Microsoft Edge 77 or later.)
For more information, you can refer to this doc.
    2. If you set the group policy correctly, Edge should open the page in IE mode correctly. If you found it wrongly opens, you can try to check the related group policy and troubleshoot IE mode according to this doc. Only set the group policy correctly then the IE mode can work well.
