Hello, I am a student learning Azure services. I recently set up my domain name with Azure DNS and resolved a subdomain to my Azure VM IP's IIS service. However, when trying to access the website, my browser prompts ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. I have ensured that my domain name is added in my IIS settings and that my IIS is running a WordPress site. What configuration could be causing this issue?

    @JinQiao Li

    I'm glad that you were able to resolve your issue and thank you for posting your solution so that others experiencing the same thing can easily reference this!

    Since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others", I'll repost your solution in case you'd like to "Accept" the answer.

    Issue:

    • You have delegated your Domain to Azure DNS.
    • You have configured the DNS Zone to have a record for an Azure VM running IIS.

    Solution:

    • This was found to be an issue from the 3rd party service.
    • Post redeploying, you confirmed the issue has been mitigated.

    Thanks for your continued contribution on Q&A and appreciate much for taking the time to share your feedback.

    Cheers,

    Kapil.
