I'm unable to connect to Microsoft Entra from my azure devops service portal. Here it is showing the user (me) is a guest in the target directory but I'm only the owner of my Azure subscriptions as well as devops organization. How to resolve this issue?

Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft Entra ID
A Microsoft Entra identity service that provides identity management and access control capabilities. Replaces Azure Active Directory.

Hello @Rajoli Hari Krishna , Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Azure QnA platform. I assume this is due to a fact that you used Microsoft Account (Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com or Gmail.com) to create Azure AD tenant. When creating tenant/azure account with Microsoft Account, the email used is promoted as a Global Admin of the tenant as Internal Guest with UPN as youremail_gmail.com#EXT#yourdomain.onmicrosoft.com. I assume this UPN format is forcing DevOps to recognize this account as a guest user. Below is the screenshot from Azure Portal for a similar setup:

I would suggest you to try an create a new user from your Entra ID Tenant (for example: DevOpsUser@yourdomain.onmicrosoft.com or DevOpsUser@yourdomain.com), elevate required permissions needed for DevOps and then try to connect your directory from DevOps portal. I hope this would help you to resolve your query. I hope this answer helps to resolve your issue. Please "Accept the answer" if the information helped you. This will help us and others in the community as well.
