Cannot Turn On AIP Azure Information Protection In Tenant

Hi I have recently setup a new 365 Developer tenant to do some testing with Intune. The tenant is currently synced with some VMs I am running at home in VMWARE. The AD Connect is working fine, all my test users are showing in Entra ID.
During my testing I was trying to configure the Microsoft Edge Sync feature for the browser. I came across some issues where the Sync feature is greyed out - see image below User's image

After reading the pre req it states you need to enable ESR (Enterprise State Roamng) which i have done and AIP Problem is when i go to the AIP in 365 via - Settings - Org Setting - Azure Information Protection I get the following message. User's image

I then click Manage Microsoft Azure Information Protectiong Settings. Which then takes me to this page. User's image

I then tried to follow the instructions in this article stating you need to enable AIP via Powershell. So I started up the powershell on my on premise DC in the lab and installed the module, however when running

Connect-AIPService

I get no credential popup and I am present with errors - see below User's image

I then tried it on my local PC which is a Windows 10 22H2 freshly built machine few weeks ago running Powershell 5. This time i got a credential prompt entered my Global Administrator, MFA code and was presented with the same error. I have tried downgrading the version of the AIP service module to a earlier version 2.0.0.3 but still get the same issue. I have raised a ticket with Microsoft whom suggested the network is blocking this connection. I proofed to them that this is not possible as the machine has a direct connection to the Internet with webfilters in place, I tried from a laptop tethered from a mobile and got the same issue. So this issue cannot be network related. I have see others on here post similar issues over the few days. Does anyone have any idea how to get this working?

    Hi @ServerBoy

You can try to solve the problem of Edge sync by following the steps below:

First, make sure that you're signed out of Microsoft Edge on all your devices, including your mobile devices, except the device you're performing the reset on. To sign out of Microsoft Edge, select Settings > Profiles > Sign out. When signing out, don't select the option to clear favorites, settings, and etc. from your local device.

After you sign out of all your other devices, open Microsoft Edge on your desktop. Select Settings > Profiles > Sync > Reset sync. In the Reset sync dialog box, choose "Resume sync on this device after resetting sync", and then select Reset.

You can refer to this document: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/edge-learnmore-reset-data-in-cloud#perform-a-reset-to-fix-a-synchronization-problem

@ServerBoy As per latest update which I received from the team, RMS team found the cause and deployed the fix for this issue (connect-aipservice failing due to rms) yesterday.

As per your comment on this post - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1504945/problem-activating-the-protection-service-from-azu you confirmed the issue has been resolved for you as well.

Apologies for the delay in resolution.
