Cannot access Azure Postgres DB from outside Vnet, Further assistance required on Power BI report embedding using this DB as source data.

Question

We have an Postgres flexible server and this database cannot be accessed from outside the vnet and there does not seem to be an option to enable it now. If we wanted to use this data on Power BI desktop to create reports, how do we do this without a VPN? Even if on the VPN, we get this error on trying to connect that we are unable to resolve.

The Power BI pro license is currently under a different organization as the aforementioned DB, So please suggest how we could get to a state where we can easily create Power BI reports using the Azure DB and then embed the same in an external app/website without any user logins. Sorry for the multipart question but any help/guidance would be much appreciated!

As I understand, you could not connect to Azure Database for PostgreSQL from Power BI.

Could you please let us know if you are using the Azure Portal option for connection as shown below:

And tried the steps mentioned in the link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/flexible-server/connect-with-power-bi-desktop
