Parameter name to limit the activity log events

Hello ,

Currently we are exploring on activity logs https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/monitor/activity-logs/list?view=rest-monitor-2015-04-01&tabs=HTTP I don't see any parameter to limit the events, tried with limit and size parameters both are not working. Could you please let us know the parameter name to limit the event list, also default and maximum page size of activity log API.

Hi @Ravi P , I understand that you want to query Activity Log using API, and you need the list of parameter names to filter the result.

@Silvia Wibowo Thanks a lot for your quick response. I would like to know parameter name to limit the no of events in activity log, i don't want to pull all the events at a time.

I couldn't find any limit parameter in documentation, also would like to know the default and maximum page size of activity log API https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/monitor/activity-logs/list?view=rest-monitor-2015-04-01&tabs=HTTP.

Hi @Ravi P,

Some list operations return a property called nextLink in the response body. You see this property when the results are too large to return in one response. Typically, the response includes the nextLink property when the list operation returns more than 1,000 items. When nextLink isn't present in the results, the returned results are complete. When nextLink contains a URL, the returned results are just part of the total result set.

@Silvia Wibowo I understand that, response includes the nextLink property when the list operation returns more than 1,000 items.

When we have nextLink in response, the number of events are inconsistent across all the pages. For an instance, first page has 420 events along with nextLink, second page has 160 events along with nextLink and third page has 60 events etc...

Could you please let me know, on which basis are you segregating no of events per pages when we have nextLink.
