why sftp username have special characters like dot?

In this sftp username without dot we don't login or could not connect the server ,why this dot involved in this username and login username without dot there is possible to login the server ?

I believe you are referring to connecting Azure Blob Storage over SFTP. Please confirm if the understand is correct.

The SFTP username is storage_account_name.username. The combination of both is used for the SFTP command. Since SFTP is a platform service, the account name is required in username to identify the storage account user wishes to connect, This format is required.
