Azure Communication Services rate limit

Hi,

I am interested in using Azure Communication Services for email distribution. I see in the documentation that there is a rate limit of 100 email messages per hour. Does this apply to the number of distributions (i.e., recipients in bulk) or per email message?

The documentation mentions that the quota can be increased by contacting support. How does it work? If we are approved, can we get an unlimited quota or is there some sort of upper limit?

Best regards

@Benjamin Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A, apologize for any inconvenience caused on this.

The limitation will be per request, so you can make 100 request/minute. If you are sending the email to 10 people (5 To, and 5 in the CC for example), then you can send 100 emails to 1000 people

    • Distribution list (DL) will be counted as 1 message.
    • Quota can be increased. Yes, it can be increased, you need to open a support ticket, and our internal team will review and approve the request based on different factors.
    • Can we have unlimited quota? No, there will always be an upper limit and as mentioned earlier increasing the limit will be dependent on different factors.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions on this.
