Nonprofit Tenant Questions

Hey everyone. Just a quick question but couldn't find a quick answer online.

If I apply for the Microsoft Nonprofit program, will these changes apply to the current tenant? I wasn't sure if the nonprofit program requires a new tenant to be approved, or if it's just a button Microsoft pushes on their end that applies to the current company tenant.
