Hello,

This problem occurred randomly over the weekend, seemingly after I switched to the new version of Teams.

I'm unable to share/upload/open files. When I click on the files tab in the desktop app, it doesn't load. When I click on the files tab on the desktop website, it doesn't load and I receive this message "my university name.sharepoint.com’s server IP address could not be found." When I open the files tab in the mobile app, I receive this message "Looks like you're offline. Please connect to the internet and try again". I am strangely however still able to view/create posts and join meetings. This problem isn't occurring for other students with the university domain, so I don't believe it is a domain issue. When using mobile data, the application works fine but i can't be constantly working off of mobile data.

I have tried logging off the app and restarting my computer, adding the necessary IP addresses to my firewall, disabling the firewall completely, deleting and reinstalling the app, clearing the cache, logging in online, using the older version of the desktop app again, and resetting my wifi router.

Please let me know how i can resolve this issue, it is urgent.

    Hey there Sophia Morena

Try doing this below troubleshoots hope they fix the issue

    1. Check the Windows Firewalls and Antivirus settings. Maybe Teams is not allowed access to the internet on both private and public networks.
    2. Clear cache of MS Teams app and try uninstall/reinstalling.
    3. Update All Essential Drivers.
    4. Reset Network Settings on Your PC.
    5. Try disabling any VPN or proxy settings on the laptop to see if this resolves the issue.

If this helps kindly accept the answer thanks much.

    Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you're experiencing with Teams, especially with file sharing and access. It sounds like you've already gone through quite a few troubleshooting steps, so let's see if we can narrow down the issue further.

Since this seems to have started after switching to the new version of Teams, it's possible that there could be a compatibility issue or a glitch with the update. Have you tried reaching out to your university's IT support or Microsoft support directly? They might have specific insights or solutions tailored to your setup.

In the meantime, here are a couple more things you could try:

Check Network Settings: Ensure that your network connection is stable and that there are no restrictions or issues with accessing SharePoint or Teams servers from your network. Sometimes, network configurations or firewalls can cause such connectivity problems.

Clear App Data and Cache: In addition to clearing the cache, try clearing all app data associated with Teams. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues related to app settings or temporary files.

Temporary Workaround: Since you mentioned that the issue doesn't occur when using mobile data, you could temporarily rely on that connection while you seek a more permanent solution. However, I understand that this might not be feasible in the long run.

Rollback Teams Update: If possible, consider rolling back to the previous version of Teams to see if the issue persists. This could help determine if the problem is indeed related to the new update.

Update Operating System and Drivers: Ensure that your operating system and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause compatibility issues with newer applications.

I hope one of these suggestions helps resolve the issue for you. If not, definitely reach out to your university's IT support or Microsoft support for further assistance. Good luck, and I hope you can get back to normal operations soon!

This has been happening to me with my Android devices (Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra & A53 & S10e) only since earlier this year. I would consider myself to be a power user and have only been able to complete my job thanks to having a ludicrous (100GB) data plan, otherwise I would be hamstringed.

Even messages, which may be received via notifications, but are unable to be sent. Joining calls results in a black/dark grey screen with nothing else displayed. Restarting the app does not work, but switching from Wi-Fi to cellular quickly displays the white and blue login pane for a momentary flash and then I'm launched back into whatever I was doing (chatting, joining a meeting, etc). Note that if I send a message on Wi-Fi I see an empty circle (unconfirmed send) and any reactions I add simply disappear. When I switch to data the messages immediately turn to sent and other users receive them seemingly in that instant.

This issue has affected me with the latest version of the Teams app on three phones for several months on multiple Wi-Fi networks in multiple cities, including my home internet, cafe Wi-Fi, and my employer's internet.

Thank you for taking the time to read my synopsis of the problem.

Same issue for me using Teams on my Android phone. Resetting Network settings works as a temporary measure but Teams soon stops syncing again. Have tried clearing cache & data and reinstalled the app twice now.
