Two MS accounts which use the same email address and I can only log into one

Hello

I'm stuck in a loop of doom and need some help!

I have two accounts (1 personal, 1 work/school) which use the same email address.

I can log into my personal account fine - I approve a notification on the the MS authenticator app and all is well. However, when I try and log into my work/school account, I get prompted to add a verification code but when I open the app, the code provided has 8 digits rather than the 6 digits that it wants! If I hit 'choose another method', I have two options; 'approve on the authenticator' (but I receive nothing to approve) or 'enter a verification code from the app' (but again same problem as above with the 6 versus 8 digits)

I have googled a LOT and read MS 'Common problems with work/school' accounts but nothing has helped.

I work for myself so I don't have an Admin that I can ask.....So whatever has been set up, it's only me that's done it but I dont know what I may have done when I originally set it up or how to make it right :(

If it helps to know, when I open the Authenticator, I see x2 logins listed; 1 ms personal account and 1 Azure AD.

Any help would be very gratefully received!!!!

Thank you

UPDATE - I have tried to log onto Admin tools to see if I can change anything there however as I don't get anything to approve on the authenticator it times out and gives me the following error message Message: AADSTS900561: The endpoint only accepts POST requests. Received a GET request. Anyone help with what that means?
