Can we chain internal loadbalancers?

Hi!

As you can see on the picture, we are trying to chain loadbalancer, to setup something like an home made green-blue deployment.

Can we set an internal loadbalancer as a member of a backend poool of another internal loadbalancer, using the backend IP configuration?

To address your query,

• No
• It is not possible to add another Internal Standard Load Balancer to the backend pool of a Standard Internal Load Balancer
• See : Limitations

Load balancers or services such as Application Gateway can’t be placed in the backend pool of the load balancer

Alternatives :

• Based on your requirement, you can consider using Gateway Load Balancer
• or
• If you are working with External LBs, you can consider Global Load Balancer
