About 3 days ago Server Backup Started to Fail, Says no Space, but tons of space available.

Hello,

since 23.03.2024 Server Backup Fails, with argument "There is not enough space to create the disk volume"

I Have eliminated several Old backups, but that is not the issue .

Lots of Space Available: Destination Usage Capacity 2272,86 GB of which only 271,86 GB used space.

Still not able to effect backup.

Something wrong with space available.

Destination drive is an Iscsi drive on a NAS and until a few days ago all went well for over 2 years.

Hey,

It should be related to a lot of shadow copies created on your drive, you should try deleting old copies on the volume. Reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/837737/backup-on-windows-server-2016-insufficient-space

As another option, you can try configuring iSCSI target on a different storage and test backups. StarWind VSAN can be used to create a target. https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-virtual-san
