Hi

I am sorry if this question sounds stupid or redundant.

I am a very, very new independent system admin and i know many things, but mainly managing and updating/upgrading existing systems.

Recently, i got a question from a customer to make a professional e-mail address integrated in o365.

Easy, right?

Yes and no.

I buy the domain using combell. I use their service to manage my own Microsoft Tenant.

I quickly discovered that it is not that easy to set up a tenant for a client. The person wants me as the admin, they just want the mail and everything from office.

So i tought, OK, i make a sub tenant in my company tenant.

That works great, it is separated but i can quickly access it and manage it.

But i can not for the life of me add a o365 licence to it, or buy one for that tenant.

So i got the feeling i am missing the easy solution for this.

so quick question.

What is the best practise for such a question? to build something new, with you managing it, including buying the licences for them and combining everything in one bill for them.

I am a bit lost how i start, correctly and safe.

    @Mike Jonckheere

    From above description it seems like you want to manage your customer tenant separately without impacting services and billing of your tenant.

    Please do correct me if this is not the ask by responding in the comments section:

    You must consider using Microsoft 365 Lighthouse. Microsoft 365 Lighthouse helps Managed Service Providers (MSPs) grow their business and deliver services to customers at scale from a single portal. With Lighthouse, you can standardize configurations, manage risk, identify artificial intelligence (AI)-driven sales opportunities, and engage with customers in an unprecedented manner, allowing you to anticipate customer needs and maximize their investment in Microsoft 365.
