what is the best R interpreter MSDtudio supports? I want Cursor advise in an R console like RStudio

Microsoft Open-R is not supported any more. The other has problems.

    Yes, Microsoft Open-R is not supported anymore.

    According to this description: R Tools for Visual Studio

    R Tools is not available in VS 2019, please see Port, migrate, and upgrade projects - Visual Studio | Microsoft Learn

    "R Tools for Visual Studio | R Tools for Visual Studio was removed from the Data Science Workload in Visual Studio 2019 Preview. You can continue using Visual Studio 2017 or alternatives like RStudio."

    You may try to use Visual Studio 2017 and install the "Data science and analytical applications" workload.
