Intune installs 3 apps and then stops

Hello everyone,

Until recently, we only ever set up Intune through the Company Portal. When the Company Portal was installed, it started to download our configured apps automatically. Now, I've tried connecting devices through "Access work or school," and it worked with my test notebook.

However, every notebook since has only installed 3 apps and then stopped. The following error is shown in Endpoint Manager: Error code: 0x0 - Unknown. After that, nothing happens.

After several hours of waiting. I've tried installing company portal and it started downloading again.

Additionally, I've set up the Company Portal as a required app, and on every device where the Company Portal is installed, it shows the error code: "The application was not detected after installation completed successfully (0x87D1041C)". Also there is a popup once a day on every notebook regarding this issue.

Any clues?

We have hybrid M365 setup if that helps.

    @100_Ez100r, Thanks for posting in Q&A. From your description, it seems app is installed failed on some devices. From the error message, it seems the app you deployed is win 32 app.

    Based as I know, win 32 app is deployed via Microsoft Intune Management Extension. For the agent installation failed. I wonder if the agent is IME related. Please check on the affected device to see if the Microsoft Intune Management Extension service is running on the affected devices.

    Meanwhile, for the error "The application was not detected after installation completed successfully (0x87D1041C)", it seems the detection rule is not correct. In fact, the rules to detect the presence of the app. if the registry key or file you set is not on the affected device after installing the app, the error will come. Please change one which is on the device after installation to make it work.
