I have a client who set up a Azure domain with a personal microsoft account but they would like to transfer ownership to the business microsoft account. They have several production resources deployed so it would be an effort to move all the resources to the new tenant directory. We are hoping there's a way we can transfer the ownership of tenant directory to the new business account. Any insight would be great!

    Simply update the billing information for the tenant by following https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1100138/where-to-update-the-payment-method-for-an-azure-te

    Then create cloud accounts for tenant management

    @Jude Lee

    Thank you for posting this in Microsoft Q&A.

    Usually, if you move the subscription to new tenant, there are chances of losing few resources. Now only this, you will be loosing all the RBAC roles which are assigned on the subscription, resource groups and resources.

    Instead, you can try to get this done by changing the owner on the subscription.

    You can follow below article,

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/add-change-subscription-administrator

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/subscription-transfer

    Or you can also create a support request with our billing team,
