The subscription is not allowed to create or update the serverfarm - basic support plan due to VS subscription

Getting the error "The subscription is not allowed to create or update the serverfarm". It's clearly not a quota issue since I tried other regions without quota and the message is very clear in that case, it says there is no quota.

I've tried multiple regions (East US, West Europe, Japan West), tried redeploying, tried a different user account, tried the portal and the API. All produce the error "bad gateway" with the detailed message "The subscription <subscription guid here> is not allowed to create or update the serverfarm".

The Azure subscription is through a visual studio subscription (and yes I've of course also checked the remaining budget, there's more than enough for the current billing period), that means it's basic support plan only so I can't raise technical support requests. Anyone know what to do in this case?

@The F Thanks for sharing the requested details. I have reviewed the backend logs.

This would need one on one offline support, for deeper investigations and might need to engage product team as well and I will suggest you open a support ticket.

@The F as this issue is similar thread to the issue mentioned in the thread #1657059. I am marking this thread as duplicate of the other thread, and I would suggest you follow the latest discussion and suggested workaround in the other thread.
