    Hi,

    1. If we enable periodic assessment enable, does patches gets downloaded? - No
    2. If we create maintenance configuration with out providing schedule details , does it downloads the patches? and apply the patches? - You cannot create maintenance configuration without specifying a schedule. Patches will be downloaded and installed at the specified schedule.
    3. is it possible to download patches and make it ready? - Not possible out of the box. You can create custom pre pathcing scripts that does that or use other software like WSUS on windows.
    4. Suppose I will create new VM, and if I want that VM to be part of existing maintenance configuration, I should use dynamic scope, am I correct? - If you use direct assignment or dynamic scope it is up to your preference. Dynamic scope allows to put VMs into maintenance configuration dynamically (based on subscriptions, tags, locations, etc.) without having to do specific assignment every time a new VM is created.
    5. what is the way to download patches with out using Maintenance configuration schedule from update manager? - Already answered in 3. You need to use some custom method.
