Dear Azure Support Team,

I am writing to report a critical issue affecting my Azure services. For the past 5 days, my port-forwarded virtual machines (VMs) have been completely inaccessible. When attempting to connect, I receive the error message "This site cannot be reached." This issue persists even after the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Unexpected Outage: The VMs went down unexpectedly without any changes on my end.
  • VM inaccessibility: Existing port-forwarded VMs are unreachable.
  • New VMs Inaccessible: Even newly created VMs in new resource groups remain inaccessible.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • I have checked all firewall and network security group (NSG) settings, and they appear to be configured correctly.
  • I have verified that the VMs are running and have the necessary ports open.

How ever everything just loads slow when I am in the support portal and nothing is accessible, Please let me know of the steps forward as this has disrupted my entire workflow.

Kind regards

    Hi @TEA LABS,

Thanks for contacting Microsoft Q&A platform.

Since you've verified that the firewall and network security group (NSG) settings are correct and that the VMs are running with the necessary ports open, there are a few additional steps you can take to further investigate and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check the Azure Service Health dashboard for any ongoing incidents or outages in the Azure region where your VMs are deployed. There may be underlying infrastructure issues impacting connectivity to your VMs.
    2. Use Azure Network Watcher or similar network diagnostic tools to analyze network traffic and connectivity to your VMs. Look for any anomalies or issues with network paths that could be causing the connectivity problems.
    3. Ensure that the VMs are running and healthy by reviewing their status in the Azure portal. Look for any alerts or warnings that could indicate issues with the VMs themselves.
    4. Try restarting the affected VMs to see if it resolves the connectivity issue. Sometimes, a simple restart can help clear up any temporary issues with the VMs.

    Hope this helps you.
