Billing Issue - Unintentionally Created VM and Data Explorer Cluster, Please cancel/void the billing

Hi Team,

Last week I was playing around for tagging strategy with creating Resource group, in between exploring options, I ended up creating Azure Data Explorer and Virtual Machine to see how these tags will acts.

I supposed to delete that the created instances, some how I forgot, today when I opended I see a big bill of $341.94, if you see, after creation, I didn't even used this service, opened into details of functionality. its my responsiblity to delete after creation, but somehow I forgot. I just deleted now.

Could you kindly look into this and cancel the billing where I never used instances and forgot to delete the resources.

Edit : I didn't used the service and also i didn't even see the functionality of it. **

Hi @Vasanth J ,

the best option might be to open a support case with Microsoft Azure support for clarification.

Azure Billing and Subscription support is offered by Microsoft by no cost and it's for free.

Thanks a lot for prompt response, i followed the steps you mentioned, However in my case its asking me about invoice Id, I can't able to pick Invoice ID,
I am assuming this is due to invoice is not raised for this accumulated cost,

Please share the above link if you think I can raise a request without invoice ID

I may wait until getting invoice and raise the request or is there any other way to reach out to support team.?

Hi @Vasanth J ,

I thought "I see a big bill of $341.94" means you already got charged and got an invoice.

In this case you have to wait until you have an invoice to open a request for refund.

You can try to choose a different Problem type in the form than Refund request. I can't remember all the options in the Problem type list at the moment. Maybe there is an option that doesn't require an invoice id.

Few Customers are using the Microsoft REST api Support Tickets - REST API (Azure Support) | Microsoft Learn to create Support request.

OR

You can call global customer service - https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/global-customer-service-phone-numbers-c0389ade-5640-e588-8b0e-28de8afeb3f2 to raise a support request on your behalf to help you connect with Azure billing and subscription management support.

thanks a lot @Andreas Baumgarten @SadiqhAhmed-MSFT I tried above all options, so far no luck in terms of creating a request, when I messaged in twitter to @azuresupport it was auto reply message to call billing number, when I call billing number its asking to go microsofthelp with azure portal, its kind of loop but no luck so far.

Hoping may be I can able to create a request after invoice generates?

Hi @Vasanth J ,

if you received the invoice you got an invoice id. With this invoice id you shpuld be able to create a support ticket like described before.
