I was using the EnterpriseDesktopApplication CSP for installing msi application.But It was stuck in a downloading state.On looking the debug event logs - Unable to read the MDM enrolled User SID from the registry. Error = 0x80070002,GetEnrolledUserFromRegistry() failed hr=0x80070002,Failed to find an active managed user. hr=0x80070002, I got these errors.
kindly help.

@Bevan Thomas, Thanks for posting in Q&A. From the error message, it is failed to get enrolled User SID on the affected device when deploying MSI LOB app. Please go to the affected device and sign in with the enrolled user then sync on the device side to see if we can get the MSI download.

Does the mdm enrolled user has to sign-in, if we are sending the application in device context?

@Bevan Thomas, Thanks for the reply. From the above error message, it is getting the enrolled SID in registry key. If the enrolled user never sign in on the device, it may has issue. So I suggest sign in to see if the error will go away.

Hi @Crystal-MSFT , still not able to install. I checked the (Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EnterpriseDesktopAppManagement\S-0-0-00-0000000000-0000000000-000000000-000\MSI)..the status shows 0x14.
Its kind of struck in downloadinprogress

@Bevan Thomas, Thanks for the reply. From your information, the status is download in progress. As the MSI download uses BITS. Did we find the BIT job id in the registry key? When look into Bits-Client event log with the id, any more information we can find?

@Bevan Thomas, To try triggering the installation again, you can set EnforcementRetryCount and EnforcementRetryIndex to (0) and set LastError and Status to an empty string under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EnterpriseDesktopAPPManagement<UserSID>\MSI<MSIProductID>

"The description for Event ID 16403 from source Microsoft-Windows-Bits-Client cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. "

This is bits-client event log for the installation.

i have tried set EnforcementRetryCount and EnforcementRetryIndex to (0) and set LastError and Status to an empty string..still struck in download

"BITS stopped transferring the MDMSW Job transfer job that is associated with URL.The status code is 0x0"

@Bevan Thomas, For the error, it shows the BITS transfer encounter issue. Please manually connect to the URL mentioned in the event to see if it downloads without any issues

To retry the installation, we can try to delete the MSI related registry key and remove any downloaded files and restart the computer to see if it will retry.

Hi @Crystal-MSFT , The URL is accessible.Have tried deleting the msi related registry for retrying the installation and it did not work.Also, none of the BITS transfer was an error event log.

@Bevan Thomas, Thanks for the reply. The URL is accessible. But the BITS job is stopped transferring. And I can't ger information from the error code. I suggest open case to get help.
