I tried configuring same custom domain for multiple Azure App Services which are hosted on same App service plan. As we cannot have single cname for multiple hosts, I have tried using Azure Front Door with custom domain and app service as backend and routing rules for path . I am able to achieve but when we access internal pages of application traffic being sent to backend URL instead of Front Door Front end which is throwing us error. When check with Microsoft again we are being said to configure custom Domain on App Service which again not possible for all apps .

@Sahitya Malepati , Thanks for posting your question. I understand your situation, based on your issue/scenario description – you are trying to configure the same custom domain for multiple Azure App Services hosted on the same App Service Plan (ASP), and you’re encountering issues when using Azure Front Door for routing. If you had filed a SR ticket, please share it with me for internally tracking.

Configuring the same custom domain for multiple App Services under the same plan is not supported.

You have mentioned “I am able to achieve but when we access internal pages of application traffic being sent to backend URL instead of Front Door Front end which is throwing us error.” --Could you please share more details about your setup? What is the exact error message you receive? Please checkout this doc section Potential problems - for more insights.

If your requirement fits, please check the steps outline on (SO discussion) configuring multiple apps run under the same domain via multiple virtual directories and applications.
