Unable to verify domain for email. TXT record was added to DNS.

I am trying to follow the document above to configure email for my domain. I have tried at least four times to verify the domain however it does not work. I have added the required TXT record per the instructions. The only error I get is "Could not verify. Click configure to try again". My DNS is hosted by Azure.

Please assist.

You might want to use tools such as https://mxtoolbox.com/TXTLookup.aspx to verify on your own whether the TXT was correctly created. If so, then it's typically just the matter of extra delay

Thank you for this comment. The tool does not find the record. I checked again and it is created exactly as the instructions say to create it: TXT name set to my domain., TXT value copy/pasted - is correct, TTL = 3600. What else can I check?

@Sam Wheat Thanks for reaching here! Could you please confirm for which domain registrar?

Ensure you have added TXT record for your domain's registrar or DNS hosting provider.

You may refer to the adding DNS records in popular domain registrars table for information on how to add a TXT record for your DNS provider and follow the documentation link for Steps-

Example For Godaddy-

refer to steps mentioned Connect your DNS records at GoDaddy to Microsoft 365

In the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Settings > Domains, and select the domain you want to set up.

Select the three dots (more actions) > choose Start setup.

On the How do you want to connect your domain? page, select Continue.

On the Add DNS records page, select Add DNS records.

On the GoDaddy login page, sign in to your account, and select Authorize. This completes your domain setup for Microsoft 365.

Hello @SnehaAgrawal-MSFT My domain was purchased from a third party however dns services are currently provided by Azure. So, when I added the TXT record to my dns I added it to Azure dns.Regards,

Run the following command from the Bash session in Azure Cloud Shell in the Azure portal:

New-AzDnsRecordSet -ZoneName "your public DNS zone name" -ResourceGroupName "the name of the resource group containing your public DNS zone" -Name "@" -RecordType "txt" -Ttl 3600 ` -DnsRecords (New-AzDnsRecordConfig -Value "the value of the TXT record you're supposed to create")

Make sure to replace italicized text with the actual values based on your configuration

@Marcin Policht Thank you for that suggestion. However there is already a record named "@" in my dns.

Please escalate this request I need to get email working as soon as possible.

Update- Issue is resolved-

Cause: Based on the generated message in the Azure EaaS screen when verifying TXT records for verification the TXT name field was shown as the domain name.

Resolution: After reviewing the TXT record fields in the Azure DNS zone, it was determined that instead of using the domain as the TXT name value it needed the “@” which is conventional for DNS TXT records.
