I have 2 Repos Servers. One that is Oracle Linux 8.9 is working fine and downloading updates just fine. But the Oracle Linux OS 7.9 isn't reaching Oracle to download updates.

Issue: Oracle 7.9 VM unable to access internet

Solution: You found that /etc/resolv.conf was misconfigured. After copying it from a known good server you were able to resolve the issue. You must become root to edit this file.

If you have any other questions or are still running into more issues, please let me know. Thank you again for your time and patience throughout this issue.

Please remember to "Accept Answer" if any answer/reply helped, so that others in the community facing similar issues can easily find the solution.

    Thanks for the reply deherman-MSFT

I have resolved this issue for not connecting to the internet

after comparing with the Repos01 server Oreacle Linux 8 the /etc/resolv.conf

it was showing something different than the Repos02 Oreacle Linux OS 7 for /etc/resolv.conf

I used the Oreacle linux 8 information / Network information for the Name Servers/DNS

and entered that information into the Oreacle Linux Repos02 Serveer and all started working fine and pulling down the updates then.

If anyone is using this for your assistance also

Please be sure if you are using sudo to use sudo su then edit the /etc/resolv.conf

or it will not take just using sudo vi /etc/resolv.conf --- you must become root

    thanks everyone

    Don
