How do I assign a glossary term at the column-level in the new Purview portal?

I've created glossary terms in a business domain. How do I assign these terms to a data asset in the Data Catalog?

Are these terms available to use outside of a business domain? The glossary term picker is empty. See screenshot below:

I've created glossary terms in a business domain. How do I assign these terms to a data asset in the Data Catalog?

Add, remove, and view data product links all from within your glossary term.

Here are the steps to add data product links all from within your glossary term:

1. Select the business domain where your term resides.
2. Select the Glossary terms button.
3. Search or browse for the glossary term and select it.
4. Select the Related tab.
5. To link your term to a data product, select the + Link data product button.
6. Search for the data product, or data products, you want to link and select them.
7. You can remove any selected products from the Selected list by selecting the X button next to their name.
8. To add your selected data products, select Add.

Are these terms available to use outside of a business domain?

No, terms are not available to use outside of a business domain

Terms are created under business domains to create context specific to each part of your organization. Both sales and marketing might use the same term to mean different things, and your business domains help your team to differentiate between those meanings.

Once created, terms map to data products, to provide context for those data products, and to provide specific data governance based on business context. It's easy to understand how a term and it's definition provide business context to a data product, but how do they provide data governance? Terms are an active part of Microsoft Purview that provide data governance by now containing policies.

Example: I had created a term in business domain named: Analytics and it only available inside the business domain.

And it's not available in business domain named: Databases
