New Outlook ?? Won't support Outlook?

Let me get this straight.

The "NEW OUTLOOK" doesn't support outlook accounts for Rules? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!

This is bizarre even for MS ! I am not even sure what to say about this. Stupid? Asinine? Crazy? Non-sensical? Anyone?

----side note - I can 't post without a tag ---- I tried "rules"..nope.... how about "outlook'...nope. Amazing

One more thing...The New Outlook looks beautiful, but it is too bad it isn't useable for me.

Completely agree, Robert.
I just tried switching over to see if Microsoft had fixed the problem, and no.
I agree that the new Outlook is visually more appealing, but not creating rules makes the new Outlook not useable.
Surely, after all this time, Microsoft would have fixed the problem.

I keep finding things that don't work in 'New Outlook'. Not being able to do rules is the first thing I've noticed.
I can't actually believe that Microsoft have released a 1990's email service with pre-beta functionality which is promoted as a reasonable alternative. Just bizarre!
I would love to go back to the 'non-new' office, but because it required me to move all of my imap accounts to MS exchange servers, I now can't get back to the set up I had before.
It my frustration coming across in my words?

I switched to the new version of Outlook on my MAC and like others cannot set rules-totally absurd. But, what is infinitely worse is that Microsoft has take off the option to go back to the old version. I'm stuck and don't know what to do. I must say also that I liked the look and feel of the old version better. However, as long as I can use rules I would be fine. I'm not sure what to do. I've taught so many users Outlook in my career I'm not sure what to do but Rules are a key function that has to work for me to keep using Outlook. By the way, I do hate GMAIL so not sure what options I have.

I just rollback to the old outlook, because the new one looks beauty but it is unusable!

I need rules, I need to delete a message from server when it is deleted on local, I need so many features that are not able on Mac version ...

Thanks for your feedback and really sorry about the inconvenience the New Outlook for Mac brings to you.

As I know, for the New Outlook for Mac, the features it can currently support are indeed very limited. I tested about your issue and get the same prompt "rules are not supported for this account". I did some search about that and found that other New Outlook for Mac users also have similar feedbacks.

Personally, it is suggested for you to turn off the "New Outlook" switch to continue to use the old version of Outlook for Mac for now. Let's give "this new guy" a little more patience, and Microsoft is working hard on it to add more common features to the new version. You could get the update information about that from this official article: The new Outlook for Mac.

Also, if you have any feedback about "this new guy", you could follow the steps mentioned in "Reporting issues and providing feedback" of the official article above or post your idea to the User voice, Microsoft may notice it and add it in the later version.

Thanks for checking back in with me. I don't like the old Outlook and don't want to switch. I guess I will just check back periodically to see if MS is still adding features. I find it crazy to release something brand new and it doesn't work. Ph well. Again, thanks for checking in.

It is completely asinine that rules are no longer supported. That is the ONLY reason I use Outlook. I don't use Outlook for task management, calendar management, etc. I use it to filter garbage out of my inbox. Another reason to switch to G-suite for everything!

OK, the workaround for the problem is to revert to legacy Outlook. The problem NOW is that every time an update is done to Outlook, it reverts to the "New" Outlook and you have to go through the revert to legacy again. I don't freaking want "New" Outlook unless its functionality with rules is fixed.

This has been ongoing up to 2023 now with no resolution. I think a "little more patience" is not very helpful.
