Azure Front Door Private Link Service region in DR scenario

When setting up a private link in Front Door you need to select a region. The list of regions is fairly limited and my country only has 1 region available. Looking at the docs it says that the private link feature is region agnostic but you should select the closest region. Secure your Origin with Private Link in Azure Front Door Premium.

I'm setting up a primary region and a fail-over secondary region where the primary region is an available option but the secondary region is not. In the event of a region outage in the primary region, I would like clarification of the effect on the secondary private link if it is also set to the primary region while the origin is in another region.

The next closet region to my secondary for the PLS has a much higher latency so prefer to select the lowest possible.
