Hyper-joined device need license?

Hi Microsoft Engineer,

I want to ask if a Hyper-joined device need license?
Because it is a device, not a user.

    @陳子毅 Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

    For this issue, if you want to enroll devices to intune, at least you will have an intune license. There are user licenses and device licenses.

    However, if you use device license, there are some limitations. Intune app protection policies, conditional access and ser-based management features are not supported on such devices.

    I am not a licensing expert, but this is my opinion.
    Details for device licensing can be found at the link below and are only used in special cases. If users are going to use the devices outside of the scope of device licensing, then they the users would need a license if you were joining and managing with Intune.

    If you are talking about just joining them for authentication purposes, then you shouldn't need a license for that.
