In the MS Entra Admin Center > Identity > Overview I can see a "Secure Score for Identity" displaying score of 46%:

However, when I navigate to the Recommendations tab, I can see the "Identity Secure Score" displaying significantly lower value of 18%:?

Are both metrics to be identical (although their name differs slightly)? Or are they different metrics at all? Can anybody explain this discrepancy please?

Thank you, Frank.

    Hi Frank

The “Secure Score for Identity” and “Identity Secure Score” are indeed related but they represent different aspects of your identity security posture.

Secure Score for Identity: This score is a broader measure of your overall identity security posture. It reflects how well your organization is aligned with Microsoft’s recommended security practices across various identity-related areas.

Identity Secure Score: This score is more specific and is calculated based on the recommendations and improvement actions listed in the Recommendations tab. It shows how many of these specific actions you have completed or partially completed.

The discrepancy you’re seeing is likely because the “Secure Score for Identity” includes a broader range of factors and may account for configurations and practices that are not directly listed in the Recommendations tab. On the other hand, the “Identity Secure Score” is strictly based on the completion of the specific recommendations provided.
