it sounds like your email address is configured as a contact in that Azure Subscription. For that reason you might receive the email notification.
You need at least Reader
RBAC role permissions on the Azure Subscription to see the subscription in the Azure Portal, if the filter for the Azure Subscriptions is properly configured.
To migrate the Classic Storage Account in the subscription you need at least Contributor
RBAC permissions.
