Classic Storage Account Migration - can't find subscription

I have received the "Urgent action required" emails re: classic storage accounts a few times.
Each time I check our Azure portal and there's no classic storage there at all, so there's nothing for me to do.

Just today, I got another one of these emails, that included a subscription ID and name (for the first time). I checked against our Azure portal, and the subscription ID isn't there. Additionally, the subscription name says "MICROSOFT PARTNER NETWORK".

My company is a Microsoft Partner, and I do redeem benefits (including Azure credits), but these are redeemed against our existing, known Azure subscription. We do not have an Azure subscription (that I can see) with the same ID as in the email

How would I go about finding out how to access this subscription, based purely on it's ID, so that I can migrate the Classic Storage Accounts?

    Hi @Sam Miller ,

it sounds like your email address is configured as a contact in that Azure Subscription. For that reason you might receive the email notification.

You need at least Reader RBAC role permissions on the Azure Subscription to see the subscription in the Azure Portal, if the filter for the Azure Subscriptions is properly configured.

To migrate the Classic Storage Account in the subscription you need at least Contributor RBAC permissions.

I ended up opening a case via the Azure Portal, and they told me what email address was linked to the subscription. Turned out to be one setup 7 years ago and no one has looked at it since, but as the support rep gave me the email address used to register I was able to guess the password and get in.

I'm still unsure how this was setup, as the sole Entra ID user in the tenant had my email address, even though the domain in that email was registered to a different tenant (our main one). I think this was an 'early 365' issue that never got cleaned up, but at least I know about it now
