I am going through the prerequisites of this course (the first module) and wasn’t clear on the following:

  • I have signed into Power Apps through my work email, and it has automatically picked up my work environment. Am I required to create a new environment? (unit 2)
  • My machine was already registered to my company’s environment so I haven’t done anything further. Is that fine? (unit 4)
  • I haven’t done the optional unit 6 – will this affect the training in any way?
  • I have started the Power Automate premium trial. Looks like nothing further needs to be done to add an RPA trial. Is this correct?
  • What is https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/install-required-software-online-workshop/introduction I have an Outlook account buy don’t have administrator rights.

Thank you!

    Hi Gini Lockwood,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Let me walk you through each of your queries:

    1. Environment Setup (Unit 2): Since you've signed into Power Apps with your work email and it's automatically connected to your company's environment, there is no need to create a new environment unless specified by the course or your company policies.
    2. Company Environment (Unit 4): If your machine is already registered to your company's environment, you're fine. No additional steps are needed unless the course explicitly asks you to configure something differently.
    3. Optional Unit 6: Skipping Unit 6 won’t affect the overall training unless it's needed for specific exercises or learning objectives later in the course. You can always revisit it if necessary.
    4. Power Automate Premium Trial: Yes, starting the Power Automate premium trial covers the RPA trial as well. You don’t need to add anything further at this stage.
    5. Regarding Administrator Rights: The link you've shared is related to setting up the required software for a training workshop. If you don’t have administrator rights on your machine, you may need to reach out to your IT department to assist with any installations or permissions.
