So I consulted with a company where I decided to no longer work for them, and they've been showing up on my main office account for the last couple years. Finally, I was sick of seeing them - especially with the orange explanation mark consistently alerting me to a problem.
So I find an article - "Leave an organization where you have a guest account" located:

In the article it makes it clear the org has to "release" you from their system. Well, actually I'm blocked. So is MS really telling me that I have to beg the company to "release" me from their grasp for that company to no longer be associated to MY paid account? Let me ask you MS, have you lost your mind?

Thanks for the suggestion, I did open a ticket on this...and at least MS was able to at least get the ORG to show in Teams. However, that ORG will still be associated with my account UNTIL that company (i no longer work with) releases it (which they won't do). Its still nuts to me that MS would have a system like this.

The Organizations page of the My Account portal helps you to manage the organizations (typically, your organization's name) that you have access to. There are two types of organizations shown on the Organizations page:
1.Home organization. Your home organization is the organization that owns your work or school account. You can't leave your home organization. If you don't have an assigned home organization, you'll just see a single heading that says Organizations with the list of your associated organizations.
2.Other organizations. The other organizations are any group that you've signed in to previously using your work or school account. You can leave any of these organizations at any time.
You can leave any organization that isn't your Home organization. Select Leave organization next to the organization you want to leave, and then select Leave to confirm you want to leave.

Yes, thank you - I am aware of this function, but you can ONLY leave the ORG by signing in via your account and "IF" they have the feature to allow people to leave the ORG on their own "allowed". By default, ORGs don't have that feature on - so you have to beg for the company you left to release your account. Its beyond stupid if you ask me that MS would forever tie someone's paid account (by them) to a ORG that they were only a guest of for a period of time.

If your account is a work account (not a personal account) and the organization is your Home organization, your account is managed by the administrator and therefore you are not allowed to leave your organization.
