Besides, here are some of my suggestions. You can have a try:
- In Windows OS, we can use Task Manager to check the running processes. But looks like you are using Linux, you can try to use System Monitor in Linux to check and close any running processes about VS Code.
- If possible, try to restart your machine(Linux) and test again.
- On Windows OS, renaming/deleting this folder
%AppData%\Code
might work. But on Linux, you might need to search and check the corresponding folder, and then try to backup it and remove it.
