How to resolve authorization error when creating a VM in Azure

Question

Hello, I have been using the subscription provided to me for practice and was able to create virtual machines last week without any issues. However, today when trying to create a VM, I received the following error:

(AuthorizationFailed) The client 'live.com#abdulhameedshittu@gmail.com' with object id '1313fd1d-3771-4559-b2d8-0b960d70b149' does not have authorization to perform action 'Microsoft.Network/virtualNetworks/read' over scope '/subscriptions/293caa52-ebff-42e6-9e6f-48771148aeed/resourceGroups/[sandbox Resource Group]/providers/Microsoft.Network' or the scope is invalid. If access was recently granted, please refresh your credentials.

Code: AuthorizationFailed

I believe the error indicates that your current sandbox is not activated. You will need to reactivate the sandbox to continue. Please see the sandbox FAQ for more information.
