Hi,

Is it so that I cannot try the exercise below without having the subscription.

I'm trying to do this learning excersice: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/explore-provision-deploy-relational-database-offerings-azure/4-exercise-provision-relational-azure-data-services?pivots=azuresql.

And it is said here that you do not need a subscription, if you are learning and using so-called sandbox. Is it true that these exercises are not the sandbox-type of exercise and if so, why not?

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/support/faq?pivots=sandbox#how-do-i-activate-the-sandbox%22https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/support/faq?pivots=sandbox%23how-do-i-activate-the-sandbox%22

And how am I supposed to accomplish more then just one course, if I would only have the free subscription for let's say 30 days or 200 dollars. The time 30 days will not just be enough to do more they maybe one course.

Any ideas how to solve this puzzle?

Br,

Minna

    Hi MinnaKivihalme-2589,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Q&A forum.

The exercise you attempted requires an active Azure subscription with administrative access, as some actions or configurations depend on subscription-level permissions. Please note that the following exercise does not use a sandbox environment.

However, Microsoft offers Azure sandboxes for certain Learning Modules on Microsoft Learn. These sandboxes provide a fully managed, pre-configured environment, allowing you to perform hands-on exercises without needing a personal Azure subscription. It’s a cost-free and convenient way to practice Azure concepts.
Yes, an Azure free account provides 12 months of free services for select offerings with specific limits, along with $200 in credits valid for the first 30 days. After 12 months or when the credits are used, you transition to a Pay-As-You-Go model. Some services remain free within usage limits.

Please reach out to us if you have any other queries.
