Question
You have a Microsoft 365 subscription that includes 500 Windows 11 devices that are managed by using Microsoft Intune.

In question it is clearly mentioned the solution includes minimize administrative effort
Please let me know why the answer should be "Use the bulk actions to delete the devices" and more likely in case the Windows are cloud PCs you will not have the option to delete or retire from Bulk device action.

Indeed, the question is not obvious.
A Device Cleanup rule removes the device from Intune but does not remove it from Azure AD. However, this does not remove it from the subscription as requested in the question. He talks about stale devices, which can represent vulnerabilities, which is why configuring a device cleanup rule is not enough.

@Anthony LAVABRE Question is misleading and they should modify the question if you think the answer is "use the bulk device actions to delete the device" as in question it is even mentioned without minimizing admin effort so it is not in this case and more likely as I mentioned for the cloud PCs you cannot even use this option so from my perspective the answer should be "Configure a device clean up rule" as it seems to be more close.
I don't necessarily agree, because it is stated: the solution must minimize the administrative effort. So, if you use the device cleanup rules, this will delete your devices from Intune but not from Entra. I don't see in the question where cloud computers are mentioned. I still agree with you that the question lacks clarity and that this should not be a source of interpretation.
This might give you some idea, what exactly I am talking about. Windows devices can be on Cloud or physical devices and delete option does not exist for Cloud PCs under "bulk device action" and that is the reason this option cannot go.
Let me know if you still think otherwise.
I understand what you mean. But again at no time does the question talk about clouds computers. Tell me where you see it. They would have specified whether it had been Windows 365 or AVD. This is why I stick to my idea that they are physical machines. I completely agree with you if it had been cloud computers, you would have to use device cleanup rules.

Based on my understanding, maybe the author doesn't consider cloud PCs. I think "Device Cleanup rule" is OK. Given this situation, it is suggested to submit feedback about this exam question.
