Looking at implementing MCC with DO in a EDU environment.

In our environment, Staff are on A3, pupils are on A1.

My question is: Devices in labs that are only used by pupils with A1 licensing, would these devices be able to utilise MCC?

The docs specify A3/E3 or above for each device to download content, but the licenses are user based.

Anyone able to shed some light?

@Jamie McNamara, Thanks for posting in Q&A. For devices to utilize MCC with DO, they need to meet the following licensing requirements:

    User's image https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/do/mcc-ent-prerequisites#licensing-requirements

Devices used by pupils with A1 licenses would not be able to utilize MCC for downloading content. The A1 license does not include the necessary features for MCC with DO.

For Microsoft 365 E3/A3 license, this is a user license. And it includes Windows Enterprise E3 or Windows Education A3. When the user who with this license assigned login into the device with their credential, the device will check the license and automatically upgrade to Windows 10 Enterprise or Education. The device the user login will have Windows Enterprise E3 or Windows Education A3 license.

Hope the above information can help.
