Inquiry on OpenAI o1 Model Deployment Types

Inquiring about the availability of deployment types for the o1 OpenAI model. Currently, it is understood that the only deployment type available is "Global Standard." Are there any plans to introduce a "Standard" deployment type for this model? This is particularly relevant due to privacy and regulatory restrictions that prohibit the use of the Global Standard deployment type.

Thank you in advance.

    Hello Ossa, David,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A and thank you for posting your questions here.

I understand that you would like to know more about OpenAI o1 Model Deployment Type.

The o1 OpenAI model currently provides limited deployment access. While the "Global Standard" deployment type is available, Azure OpenAI Service also offers additional deployment options, including "Data Zone" and "Azure Geography" - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/openai/how-to/deployment-types

These alternatives enable more localized data handling, which can help address privacy and regulatory requirements.

At present, there are no specific plans disclosed to introduce a "Standard" deployment type for the o1 model - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/openai/concepts/models

Keeping track of Azure's official updates is advisable to stay informed about any future changes or newly introduced deployment options.

I hope this is helpful! Do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.
